Brief description of study
This research is being done to see if women who have sickle cell disease (SCD) experience any difference in their pain while using a hormonal implant as compared to when not using a hormonal implant (Nexplanon). We are seeking women between the ages of 18 and 45 who have been diagnosed with SCD and have had at least 3 vaso-occlusive pain episodes in the previous 6 months.
