Brief description of study
Obesity is strongly regulated by energy expenditure, but the variables regulating individual levels of energy expenditure in the human population remain unknown. This study examines the parameters regulating energy expenditure at rest and during exercise in healthy adults across the lifespan. Participants will fill out a questionnaire and provide blood, urine, and stool samples before undergoing a DEXA scan, measurement of resting energy expenditure, and an exercise performance test.
