Brief description of study
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the therapeutic benefit for participants receiving Recovery-Oriented Cognitive Therapy (CT-R) for families- a cognitive therapy based group for family members of individuals in the early stages of psychosis. A CT-R based intervention has shown to be effective for individuals with psychosis, offers individualized strategies, and focuses on individualized recovery-oriented goals (Beck, Rector, Stolar, & Grant, 2009). Prior research has identified a need for additional investigation of the effects of interventions for relatives of individuals in the early stages of psychosis (Sadath, Muralidhar, Varambally, Jose, & Gangadhar, 2015). We have adapted CT-R for family members in a group setting, and seek to analyze clinical data collected during this intervention that will inform understanding of its therapeutic benefits.
