Brief description of study
Do you get kidney stones? Are you willing to drink more water?
Volunteers are needed for a kidney stone research study at CHOP and Penn The purpose of the 2-year study is to help researchers find out if drinking more fluid can help prevent the progression and occurance of future kidney stones.
Detailed description of study
Participants are provided with a ‘smart’ water bottle that automatically logs daily water intake through a phone app. If placed in the intervention group, participants are given a daily fluid goal. At enrollment and at end of study visits, participants conduct a 24-hour urine panel and either a CT scan for adults or a renal ultrasound for adolescents. Questionnaires and follow-up visits are conducted online and over the phone. In addition, participants have the potential to obtain compensation of up to $480.00.
Remote recruitment is possible, so if you live a distance from Philadelphia you can still participate.
