Brief description of study

The University of Pennsylvania is conducting a study of brain responses to graphic health warnings. The study includes receiving cell phone messages for 4 weeks and two functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) scans of the brain. These scans are non-invasive and do not use X-ray. To be eligible to participate, you must be between 14 and 18 years of age, and pass screening. This study is voluntary. Participants will be compensated up to $350 for their time.

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: healthy controls, tobacco use disorder nicotine dependence nicotine use disorder tobacco dependence
  • Age: 14 years - 18 years
  • Gender: All
