Brief description of study
The purpose of this study is to evaluate memory, language and cognitive difficulties in patients with ALS. ALS is a neurological disease that affects nerve cells (motor neurons) in the brain and spinal cord. This condition largely affects the muscles however there are some individuals who also experience other neurological problems that include changes in thinking, decision-making and personality.
Detailed description of study
Study activities include these core activities:
• Blood draw
• Neurocognitive testing
• 3 Tesla MRI
Optional activities include:
• Lumbar Puncture
• 7 Tesla MRI
Eligibility of study
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:
- Conditions: Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Frontotemporal Lobar Degeneration
